Curry Architects Founder Shellie Curry to Speak at BisNow Baltimore County Growth + Development Summit

Founder of Curry Architects, Shellie Curry will be speaking at this month’s Baltimore County Growth and Development Summit panel hosted by BisNow at the Sheraton North in Towson on Tuesday, September 18. At the helm of Curry Architects for over 30 years, Mr. Curry has had a large influence on the built environment of the area. Notable projects include the development of Metro Centre at Owings Mills the State of Maryland’s only transit-oriented community that is comprised of mixed use, retail, office, and multi-family housing all within walking distance to the MTA’s Owings Mills Metro Station for a live-work-play neighborhood that allows access to downtown Baltimore in 20 minutes. With the Curry Architects offices located in the heart of Towson, Mr. Curry has also been a part of the reinvigoration of downtown Towson with the development of Towson Square which brought movie theatres back to the core of the town center as well as much needed parking facilities. The firm has also redesigned several restaurants on the main street of Towson including Nacho Mama’s, The Greene Turtle, and The Point, providing a new life and look for the County Seat. Not only has Curry Architects influenced retail and multi-family housing throughout Baltimore County, they have also been a partner with several private schools K-12 schools and universities in expanding their campuses to further their educational missions and better service students, families, faculty and staff from the Greenspring Montessori School to the recent expansions at Stevenson University. The Curry Architects Education Studio has completed construction on several projects for the 2018-2019 school year including the new pre-school and high school buildings at Talmudical Academy and the new Fader Innovation Center and the Marc Village Faculty and Staff Housing both on the McDonogh School campus.
