Curry Architects Redesigns Fire Station for the 21st Century

Curry Architects redesigned the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company’s station on Sudbrook Avenue in Pikesville. This Company is the second oldest in Baltimore County founded in 1897. They have been at their current location since the early 1960s and the space had grown to accommodate the growing fleet of equipment, but much of the facility was outdated for the current Company’s internal needs. A full $1.6 million redesign of over 12,000 SF space was able to gain a new training room for community events, more private sleeping quarters, private bathrooms, laundry facilities, a TV lounge, fitness room, large kitchen and dining room, and even a museum to showcase the Company’s important history in the community. The new station was rededicated on June 10, 2018 and you can see and read more about it in The Baltimore Sun and on WMAR Channel 2 News.
