This project consisted of a major renovation of the former Shire Pharmaceuticals site into the new home of the School of the Sciences and the School of Nursing and Health Professions on Stevenson University’s Owings Mills campus. The expansion and addition of two floors to the original manufacturing building tripled the amount of finished space available for learning in these programs. Curry Architects worked closely with the university to create a facility offering casual learning pods that break outside the more traditional classrooms and laboratory spaces. In addition to faculty offices, new classrooms, and conference rooms, the building houses studios, high-tech laboratory spaces, support spaces, and an expansion area for the School of Design, bringing science and art majors together in an inclusive and shared atmosphere.
